ಭೂಮಿತೂಕದವಳೆಂದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಆಗಸದಂತೆ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛಂದ ವಿಸ್ತಾರದವಳು ನಾನು!
ಹರಿವ ನದಿಯೆಂದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಕಡಲಿನಂತೆ
ಗಂಭೀರ ಅಸೀಮ ಆಳದವಳು ನಾನು!
ಬಳಕುವ ಬಳ್ಳಿಯೆಂದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಮರದಂತೆ
ಬೇರೂರಿ ರೆಂಬೆಗಳ ಚಾಚುವವಳು ನಾನು!
ಸುಂದರ ಹೂವೆಂದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಮುಳ್ಳಂತೆ
ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸಿ ಚುಚ್ಚುವವಳು ನಾನು!
ನಿನಗನಿಸುವುದೇ ನನಗೂ ಅನಿಸುವುದು;
ನಮ್ಮಾತ್ಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೇದವೆಲ್ಲಿಹುದು? ಆದರೆ
ಅವುಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಷ್ಟೇ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿಹುದು!
